The Yankees and the Cowboys are the same beast in different sports. They both believe that they are so much better than everyone else that it just disgust me. The Yankees cheat every year so that they can put the best players possible on the field in the hopes that they will win the championship every year. They are cheaters because MLB has rules for how much money you can spend and because the owner is loaded they ignore the rules. The Cowboys are all about flash and not about football. Football is a team game and Jerry Jones (the owner) continues to bring in individuals that have proven time and time again that they are all about themselves.
The San Diego Chargers are my most hated team. I never had a real problem with the Chargers until a few years ago when the team went 14-2 with a loss to a surging Patriots team in the first round of the playoffs. The ownership said the that Coach Marty Schottenheimer would keep his job. 2 days later they fired Schottenheimer after his coordinators had left for other jobs. He was 14-2 and they fired him for not being able to win in the playoffs. I kind of get that but they replaced him with a man that couldn't win regular season games either. Norv Turner to this day doesn't have a winning record as a coach. The team still hasn't won anything and the team is full of cocky overpaid "talent". Not enough bad things can happen to this team to suite me.
Now the Miami Hurricanes have Fired their head coach Randy Shannon. Shannon was with the program for 4 years and took one of the dirtiest programs in the country and made it white glove test clean. The Hurricanes football program has suffered only one arrest in his 4 year with the University. Shannon was also brought in to focus the players more on academics since Miami had one of the worst graduation rates in the country. The Hurricanes currently sit at 3rd in the country for graduating players, only behind 2 of the 3 military academies. The program also wasn't winning games during their problem years. Shannon has a record of 28-22 with the university with 2 consecutive winning seasons and the team improving from year to year until a less than expected 7-4 year this year. One down year and he was out even though he had done an amazing job with the Hurricanes major issues.
The U isn't The U anymore and it is time for some serious changes on that campus if they really want to get back to what it was. First thing they need to do is build a stadium on or at least near the campus. You want better attendance then make the game more accessible to the students. Update your practice facilities to be competitive with the programs that are better than you and draw in better talent. Get out of the ACC and join a real conference. Everyone else is doing it, why can't you? Finally, don't fire another coach that did everything that you hired him to do for your university.
